Day 4: Your Favorite Character to Meet (Non-Face)
Well, I can tell you for sure, dear readers, that my answer will not be Chip & Dale. Somewhere, perhaps lost in the same wormhole as many of my socks, is a picture of me as a two year old, screaming my head off as Chip pushes me in a stroller. Darn pesky chipmunks… antagonistic little rodents. Perhaps that’s why I choose instead, their number one target.
Maybe I feel sorry for Donald, what with his being the foil to his often bratty nephews and aforementioned chipmunks. Maybe it’s his well intentioned motives but ill executed actions that I can sympathize with. Perhaps it’s the fact that he’s a walking contradiction – he never wears pants unless he’s swimming, at which point he loses the shirt…
Maybe it’s a mix of all of the above; for whatever reason, Donald Duck has always held a place in my heart. As rarely as I see him at the park, whenever I do, pictures are a must!
One last little story from my family’s last trip to Disneyland, we visited Donald and his beloved Daisy in Frontierland; Goofy was standing next to them in the meet and greet area. My little girl was talking to Donald and Daisy and turned to Goofy, looked at him and said, “Goofy, you’re distracting us. You need to not be in this picture.” Daisy couldn’t control her laughter, but Donald was happy, applauding and giving the thumbs up sign. She later told Goofy she wanted to make sure he got his own special time, but still…. she did Donald proud that day. And Daddy couldn’t help but be a little proud – score one for the duck!
Now it’s your turn, readers! Who is your favorite non-face character to meet in the park? Don’t worry, face characters will be a question later on!
Quick note: I will continue with Day 5 of the challenge on Monday. We’ll see you after the weekend!
I love seeing the characters around the park, I just tend to skip over them and not stop by for a picture. Although the last time I did take a pic was with a Stormtrooper in Tomorrowland. My GF and I were in it and I had asked if I could place my Oswald ears on his head and they agreed. So that is the pic I have LOL.
A stormtrooper with Oswald Ears is a picture worth a thousand words!
Must see that photo Eric!
I can’t pick just one! Especially since the new Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree opened up. I will say that my best experience with a character to date has been with Donald. He taught a bunch of kids how to lasso, then we waltzed to the area music and went on an adventure through the ranch. But I also have lots of fun with Chip and Dale- once, me and a friend and Chip and Dale played quick draw against Bre’r Fox and whoever he could get to join him. And the next time I saw Bre’r Fox, a few days later, he asked me for a truce. So I also love Bre’r Fox! Even though he stole a stroller and blamed it on me. Then there’s Horace Horsecollar, who the kids never want to meet so if I see him we can just kinda hang out and make fun of Mickey and Minnie.
So, I may not have a favorite character, but can you tell that I have a favorite meet location?
Love that area, too! And for the record, we waited around just because we heard Horace would be visiting!
I’m always overly excited to see characters! Doesn’t matter who I see first I am 6 years old again. I always shout out there name and wave as I walk past. Once in awhile I get lucky and amidst all the picture taking and autographs the character will wave back. That makes my day! But I have to say I do love seeing Mickey Mouse. There is just something about that mouse…gets me every time!
Who doesn’t love the Mouse? Even if he’s not the “favorite” to meet, he’s a “must” nonetheless!
I’m not sure about a favourite character TO meet, but I know of favourites I HAVE met… On my second trip to Disneyland, my friends and I were walking down Big Thunder Trail and they were training new recruits, so there were a tonne of obscure characters including the Country Bears and Eeyore. I got a wicked photo with the latter where we both looked horribly depressed ^_^
I’m still holding out to meet Mickey in his Steamboat Willie and Sorcerer personnas in his house. I’ve got him in the Band Concert and Through the Looking Glass, but not, y’know, my favourite appearances of his.
I have yet to meet the Country Bears, but feel a meeting with Big Al is a must!
I have a tie. I have always loved meeting Mickey.Reason= I don’t really know. Maybe because it all began with the mouse and he is what comes to mind when I think of the Disney parks. I also love Goofy. He is clumsy, funny, but has the biggest heart. Reminds me of myself sometimes.
I have many a picture with Goofy myself, which may as well be titled, “Goofy and Goofy.”
Easy. Mickey. 🙂
Mickey. Always Mickey. Wherever, whenever, however dressed.
I get excited whenever I see any of the Fab 5. Now that I have kids, I get excited when we see any of their favorites, Winnie the Pooh, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie…to name a few. Even though they are shy/scared to get photos, we always say Hi! But I would say my all time favorite is Mickey. Gotta Love him =)
